Sabotage Ako Sabotaged by God

Showed up to the Bombay bar in Akashi on July 1, about 815pm, ready to start playing about 9. A little surprised to see the place completely closed up and shutters down. Not good.
Matt: Oh, right. The dude said he might not be there. I'll call him.
Beautiful organisation, got a bite with Kana and Kazu and when we got back the place was indeed open, and with free Coronas for the band. Sick. Cheers Gordon, my favourite blues-soloing deadpan bartender in Akashi.
How famous are we? Check out our high-quality tour poster. Coming soon to a toilet near you. Thanks Jen.

Broke a string doing a Rapture cover ("Out of the Races") and while changing, some old Jap guy wanders into the bar (which was now wide open and pretty much anybody walking by would be savaged with the Saboteur) and points at me sitting on stage.
Guy: "Are you the master? Hey, are you the master?"
Nick: "Yeh! I'm the master!"
Guy: "Come here! Too loud! Turn it down!"
Hiro: "Fuck off! Sayonara!"
So then Gordon goes off to calm the dude down/kick him onto the street, we turn down the volume switch on the drums, and back into it.

Staring down the crowd.

Impromptu Cold Cold Night rendition... nice one Mel!

It was good to play again. Didn't sound as well as we could have... thanks heaps to the Bombay guys for letting us come... the tiny little stage was cool, but it made the sound setup difficult. I thought we did OK, and was geared up for Sabotage Ako the next week.

Until it decided to fucking RAIN and we had to call it off. All our amps were coming from a dude in Kakogawa, and he wasn't going to come down unless we were going to play but we needed to decide the night before coz we were scheduled to meet in Ako at 930am for an 11am start. So it went kaput, with 80% chance of rain and death by electric shock. Turned out it barely rained the next day, which pissed us all off, but on the other hand it was shitty weather. Even if we had played it would have been a bad vibe.

So hopefully next week at Spooky. Have to hit up Ko-chan and see how it looks. Tentatively going for July 30, to send off Matt and tear down Ako. See you then.

For too long, puritanical love-monkeys have been talking ill of one of our little planet's most time-honoured gastronomical past-times. Have YOUR say in reclaiming your right to eat your friends. If god had meant us not to eat human flesh, why did he make it so damn tasty?
